What are the differences and upgrade paths between Internxt Lifetime personal plans and Business plans?

Find out what are the differences between Internxt personal and Business plans, and how you can share storage space for different accounts.

Overview

We offer both Lifetime personal plans and Business plans, each designed for different use cases. This article explains the key differences between these plans and clarifies how users can move from a Lifetime personal plan to a Business plan when their needs change.

Lifetime Personal Plans

Lifetime personal plans are designed for individual use and long-term personal storage. These plans are intended for users who want exclusive access to their own storage without collaborative or organizational features.

Key characteristics:

  • Single-user configuration

  • Lifetime personal plans are limited to one user. They do not support multi-user access, shared workspaces, or team management.

  • One-time purchase with lifetime access

  • Storage is acquired through a single payment and remains available for the lifetime of the plan, making it suitable for personal and long-term storage needs.

Because of their personal nature, Lifetime plans do not include features required for team collaboration or centralized administration.

Business Plans

Internxt Business plans are designed for teams, organizations, and professional environments where collaboration and user management are required.

Key characteristics:

  • Multi-user management

  • Business plans allow multiple users to be added to a shared workspace, with permissions and access managed centrally.

  • Collaboration and administration features

  • Shared storage, centralized management, and administrative controls are available to support team workflows and organizational use cases.

Business plans are the appropriate option when shared access, collaboration, or user management is required.

Moving from a Lifetime Personal Plan to a Business Plan

Lifetime personal plans cannot be converted or upgraded into Business plans. If Business features are required, the following approach applies:

  • Purchase a Business plan separately

  • The Business plan must be acquired independently from the existing Lifetime plan.

  • The Lifetime personal plan remains active and can be used alongside the Business plan, either within the same account or under a separate account.

This setup allows continued use of personal lifetime storage while gaining access to Business features.
