Understanding Internxt Plans
Many users experience confusion regarding their Internxt accounts when they have purchased plans through third-party resellers like StackSocial, or a lifetime in the early stages of Internxt.
This article intends to clarify common concerns around account tiers, features, and upgrade prompts related to these plans.
Why am I being asked to upgrade my plan?
Plans purchased via resellers, such as StackSocial, or plans purchased in an early stage of Internxt include cloud storage but do not provide access to all premium features offered in the current Plan Tiers (Essential, Premium, Ultimate) as mentioned on their website under "Important Details"
For example:
StackSocial Plans: These provide cloud storage only, which means you can log in, upload files, and use the allocated storage. However, premium features such as backups, antivirus, and other advanced tools are excluded. This is why you might encounter an upgrade prompt when trying to access those features, even though your storage plan is active.
Older Lifetime Plans: If you purchased a lifetime plan at an earlier stage of Internxt (these plans don't belong to a tier, they are named 1TB, 2TB, 5TB, etc), certain features such as automatic backups are no longer available due to a restructuring of Internxt's plans, while you can still sync files via the virtual drive, accessing advanced features like backups, VPNs, or antivirus requires purchasing a new lifetime plan directly from Internxt.
The storage from the new plan will stack with your current plan if purchased.
Why does my Internxt show that I am on a "Free Tier"?
When you redeem a lifetime plan from a reseller like StackSocial, your account may still display as being on the "Free" tier.
This happens because reseller-purchased plans add storage capacity without unlocking premium features that are indicated by paid-tier labels.
This display behavior is expected, and it does not impact your ability to access or use the purchased storage space.
VPN Perks: Plans purchased through resellers do not include paid-tier VPN access.
However, you can still use the free tier VPN to connect to France. To use the VPN, you can install it below
Regardless of the tier label, you can still access your purchased storage through the Internxt Drive desktop app for uploading and downloading files via the synchronized directory.
Key takeaways
Plans purchased through resellers, such as StackSocial, lack premium features like backups, antivirus, and VPNs included with plans directly purchased from Internxt.
"Free tier" labeling on reseller plans is expected behavior and does not affect storage access.
Advanced features can be unlocked by purchasing a direct plan from Internxt, with the new storage stacking on your existing allocation.
Chrome browser users can access the free VPN tier by installing the Internxt VPN extension.
