When you delete an item, it is moved to trash instead of being permanently deleted right away, giving you time to review and restore any files or folders that may have been removed by mistake.
To keep your storage organized and prevent your trash from growing indefinitely, items in your trash are automatically deleted after a set grace period. Once this period expires, the items are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
How long do files stay in my Trash?
The amount of time items remain in Trash depends on your plan. To upgrade your plan to benefit from longer retention of your files, you can do so from our website.
Free plan, legacy paid, and other plans: 2 days before they are automatically deleted.
Essential plan: 7 days before they are automatically deleted.
Premium plan: 15 days before they are automatically deleted.
Ultimate plan: 30 days before they are automatically deleted.
How the automatic cleanup works
When an item is deleted, it is moved to trash, and the grace period begins.
During this time, you can open Trash and restore the item at any moment before the expiration date that matches your plan.
To restore your file, select the file(s)/folder(s) you want to restore to your account, right click and select “Restore” and choose the location where you want the files to be restored.
When you navigate to the Trash section, you will be shown how long you have left until your files are automatically deleted.
If the grace period expires, the system automatically removes the item from Trash.
After this happens, the item is permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
Managing your trash
You can open Trash at any time to review deleted items. From there, you can restore items to their original location or permanently delete them from your account.
When you navigate to the Trash section, you will be shown how long you have left until your files are automatically deleted.
If you want to keep something, make sure to restore it before the grace period expires.
Once automatic cleanup occurs, recovery is no longer possible.
